Christenings

The baptism (or Christening) of a new child or adult is a joyful celebration for parents, families and churches.

In baptism the parents and godparents make promises about their own faith in Jesus Christ, and their commitment to bring up their child to know Jesus for themselves.

For those who want to thank God for the birth of their child, but don’t feel able to make the baptism promises, we also offer a service of dedication and thanksgiving where we thank God for the arrival of a new child into the family.

Baptisms and dedications take place during our regular Sunday service at 11am (usually at our Family service on the 3rd Sunday in the month) where we can welcome your child into the church family.
Before a baptism the we will arrange to visit you and your children in your home. We will explain what will happen at the service, the promises you are going to be making and give you the chance to ask any questions you might have.
